Benefits Of The Respironics Cough Assist:

» Reduces The Occurrence Of Respiratory Infections
» Easy For Patients And Caregivers To Operate
» Safe, Noninvasive Alternative To Suctioning
» Removes Secretions From The Lungs

The Cough Assist is a noninvasive therapy that consistently and
safely removes secretions in patients with an ineffective
ability to cough.

Typical CoughAssist Patients Include:

» Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
» Post-Polio
» Myasthenia Gravis
» Spinal Muscular Atrophy
» Spinal Cord Injuries
» Muscular Dystrophy

The CoughAssist clears secretions by gradually applying a
positive pressure to the airway, then rapidly shifting to
negative pressure. This rapid shift in pressure produces
a high expiratory flow, simulating a natural cough.
